What is full-spectrum hemp?
There are more than 60 organic compounds found in hemp. There are also numerous other cannabinoids as well as terpenes (aromatics) which we dive into more later. Full-spectrum hemp is extracted from hemp flowers and contains all of the beneficial compounds found in the plant.
How does full-spectrum hemp work?
Our bodies have a system called the endocannabinoid system which modulates the nervous system. This system is made up of thousands of receptors primarily in the central nervous system and the brain. Cannabinoids specifically interacts with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body stimulating the nervous system.
Will it make me high?
Short answer: NO. Long answer: The concentratio of the psychoactive component of hemp is less than .3%. That said, with high-potency products, you should use care and start slowly, increasing gradually to find what works best for you.
Will I test positive?
Every body metabolizes differently. When considering prolonged or regular use of full-spectrum hemp, please consult with your primary care physician about the possibility of positive drug tests. Trace amounts of other cannabinoids can build up in the blood stream over time.
So what is full spectrum hemp?
We specifically chose to work ONLY with full-spectrum hemp because it provides whole-plant benefits AND because hemp’s effectiveness is enhanced by the presence of other cannabinoids. Full-spectrum hemp delivers all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavenoids (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, and anti-allergic) for maximum efficacy. Here’s some more science if you’re curious.
Am I going to become addicted?
No. According to a recent study by the World Health Organization “…human experimental research indicates that hemp is not associated with abuse potential.”
What is Nanotechnology?
A method of breaking down the oil droplets into particles so small (nanoparticles) they are more readily absorbed by the body. Makeup and health organizations have been using it for years.
Is full spectrum hemp extract the same as hemp oil?
No. While both are derived from hemp, they are from different parts of the plant and contain different compounds.
Hempseed oil, often called just hemp oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant. Hempseed oil is rich in protein, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids and has the “perfect” 3:1 ratio of omega-3:omega-6 fatty acids. It does not contain or any of the beneficial cannabinoids.
Full-spectrum hemp extract, (which confusingly is also sometimes called hemp oil), is the oil extracted from the flower of the hemp plant. The flowers are where cannabinoids are found, as well as terpenes (the volatile aromatic compounds that give the plant its distinctive smell.) The synergistic interaction of these compounds is known as the “entourage effect.”
